About Us
PanGlobal Training Systems Ltd.Several years ago it was recognized that the learning materials available for the certification of Power Engineers across Canada were in need of standardization and upgrading. It was time to join forces to provide a more dynamic support for the educational requirements of the Power Engineering profession and to support all stakeholders of Power Engineering. To address this need, the three largest technical institutes in Canada came together. Collectively they had been producing Power Engineering learning materials and delivering world class training since 1917, while currently providing and supporting the education of over 2000 Power Engineers every year. These three institutes were:
They formed a Power Engineering Joint Venture, which later became PanGlobal Training Systems Ltd., to publish and maintain learning materials for the Power Engineering profession. With the direction and cooperation of the three parent institutes (plus input from countless other institutes and individuals across Canada) PanGlobal strives to produce learning materials that are high quality and current to the profession. Also referred to as Power Engineering Training Systems (PETS), PanGlobal's learning materials provide the knowledge and understanding required by Power Engineering candidates to successfully challenge national and regional examinations at all certification levels. PanGlobal Training Systems maintains close relationships with government and industry representatives in Canada to ensure materials are relevant, current and continually upgraded. Our learning materials are approved in Canada by the Interprovincial Power Engineering Curriculum Committee (IPECC), the Standardization of Power Engineer Examinations Committee (SOPEEC), and the Association of Chief Inspectors (ACI). Also, the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE), a Canadian professional organization of Power Engineers and people working in related fields, has endorsed the entire line of PETS learning materials. PanGlobal's base Power Engineering learning and support materials have spawned several other learning products, specific to related topics. In addition, the relevance of our materials for Power Engineering in general has led to growing acceptance and demand in the United States, for which we provide customized materials converted to the USCS units of measurement. Material Development SupportRenewal of the Power Engineering curricula is a time-consuming and expensive process, which has been supported through significant funding by the TransAlta Corporation plus many hours of input from a large number of working professionals who continue to add value to the work we have undertaken. This funding and input has allowed us to establish a process that updates content continuously and renews content every five years for each of the 5 national certification levels in Canada. PanGlobal and all Power Engineers in Canada wish to gratefully acknowledge this support. |
